Over the summer, here's what you can do to ensure Amanda is elected in November:
* Make sure your name is listed on the Supporters page! People who know and trust you will want to find out more about Amanda after they read your name on the Big Ol' List. Besides, it's so encouraging for Amanda and the core campaign workers to see it growing, and growing, and growing.... Contact Robert to add your name.
* Take Amanda around your block to meet your neighbors! Contact the office, 503-235-2295, to plan a visit. You and Amanda knock on the doors on your street some summer evening or weekend, chat briefly with your friends, and move on. It's fun for you, Amanda, and your neighbors!
* Help at a Street Fair, Parade, or Farmers Market! We'll be at events almost every weekend - call the office to volunteer.
* Invite Amanda to your neighborhood cleanups, events, and parties! Email Amanda's Field Coordinator to get your event on Amanda's schedule.
* March in parades, and/or hand out information at Street Fairs and Farmers Markets! Email Linda to sign up for the e-newsletter to be notified of upcoming events where lots of participants are needed, and/or call the office if you can give a couple of hours this weekend, or the next, or the next....
* Join Amanda's practical project volunteers! Neighborhood events like parades, plantings, and parties need many helpers to make them run successfully. Amanda can't participate in every one citywide, but Amanda supporters can! And we can keep making practical improvements in Portland's neighborhoods the way Amanda has for over 15 years - by working together. Call the office or email Amanda if you'd like to know which neighborhood projects need help this coming week.
* Keep wearing your Amanda for Portland button! Call the office, 503-235-2295, if you need one. When someone comments, tell them:
Amanda is running to:
* Make sure the City Council spends taxpayers' money wisely and stops expensive overruns. She will work so that all 95 neighborhoods and 35 business districts have basic services like public safety, safe streets and sidewalks, and good schools.
* Improve our local economy, supporting more good paying jobs with benefits. She will push for fair taxes/fees for businesses, and continue to improve permit processes.
* Support our Schools. Amanda has been an active PTA member in Portland Public Schools for 17 years, and earned the endorsement of the Portland Association of Teachers. She will support programs that help families stay in Portland.
